our tourguides
Adinda
Adinda, with her cheerful, jumpy curls, is currently studying Arabic. She lives in Amsterdam, loves tahini and has a lot of experience with doing fun projects. "For me, Ontmoet Palestina is a way to work from optimism on a place that is close to my heart; Palestine. The fragrances, colors, people and tastes – the Arab world is a gift".
Bram
Bram, our all-rounder and comic/philosopher. He is born in Brabant and loves bananas and humus. "I have lived in Palestine for a long time; I taught English to young people there. I was overwhelmed by the enormous hospitality. Through Ontmoet Palestina, I want to share this experience with everyone".
Sophie
The meticulous, sweet Sophie loves knitting. She has a morning mood and a loud laugh, next to that she is an anthropologist. "In Palestine I unexpectedly fell in love with the joy and hospitality of the people, but I was also deeply touched by the unjust situation. Ontmoet Palestina is a way for me to turn despair into action."
HendrikThere are only good things to say about Hendrik. He is enthusiastic about nearly everything, loves wildlife (documentaries), is only intolerant to cheese. "The exuberance and spontaneity, that is so beautiful about the Palestinians!" Hendrik says with a smile on his face. "Behemisch, let your worries go, live in the present, that kind of feeling."
Sofie
The always good-humored Sofie climbs and clambers through life. She is our dabka queen, adventurer and anthropologist. She is sometimes a little clumsy, but open and sweet to everyone. "The brown eyes in Palestine touch me. Intense and full of life. I love the streets full of people, the food and the music."
MatthijsThe smartest of the group is Matthijs. With his cheerful face he is our finance guy, and he plays football like the best. He jokes around a lot and does not leave the house without his cap. "To me, the beauty of Palestine is the way in which people get the most out of their lives in such difficult circumstances."
